Sensors

The use of flexible substrates could usher in a new era in the production of sensors. Up until now, sensor production has involved complex and expensive methods to fit circuit boards with rigid substrates.
Flexible substrates for sensors can be produced with the reel-to-reel method, using a stamping lamination technology developed by Heraeus. A weather-resistant temperature module can measure up to 250°C and is suitable for measurements in tight spaces such as automobile engine compartments. In addition to more rapid manufacturing and economical production, flexible conductive strips could also contribute to the miniaturization of sensor modules (see also: Mirco Technology).
Besides these innovative applications our precision parts are used in following conventional sensor applications:
  • Pressure sensors
  • Temperature sensors
  • Light sensors
  • Positioning sensors
