So-called taping or masking is well-suited to a selective full length strip coating as it means working with an abrasion resistant adhesive foil which serves to protect the areas that are to remain uncoated. Once the process is complete, the tape is again removed. Similar to immer-sion plating, the surface quality is also influenced by the flux speed and, most particularly, by the grade of tape that is used.
